From its remotely controlled wrought-iron gates, the private road winds through lush oak forests, planted on the royal hunting grounds over 400 years ago. Lake Mälaren, one of western Europe's largest lakes, is just a 3-minute walk from the house and offers fresh, clean swimming down the gravel road from Mariehov. Just a short 15-minute stroll from your splendid forest cottage you’ll find yourself in the picturesque 16th century village of Mariefred, built along the shores of lake Mälaren.
