Do you long for a break from your regular routine, responsibilities, and social media?
In that case, you've come to the right spot! Taking excellent care of your mind, body, and spirit is fully possible with the help of few modern bits.
Picture this: you sip your coffee while gazing at the serene lake, listening to birds chirping. Depending on your own personal choice, you can plunge in the clean, fresh water for a swim or just take the boat for a ride, and that for sure will energize your body.
The days are yours to do with what you want: lounge in the sun, ride bikes, exercise, row a boat, hike through the woods, read, or simply be.
The eco cottage features a main cabin, a tiny bedroom, a dining area under a glass veranda, and a storage room; it is a quiet, tastefully decorated retreat.
This off the grid cabin was designed to be multipurpose, with space for sleeping, lounging, cooking, and eating all in one convenient location.
It includes modern, comfy futon couch beds that can accommodate 2 people with a Japanese aesthetic and comfort (Japanese bed: futon mattress on tatami mat). In this space, you'll have at your disposal a coffee table, an Asian cabinet and a kitchenette with all the essentials for preparing a few simple meals on a gas stovetop.
2 more persons can sleep comfortably in the little bedroom (one on the futon sofa bed and the other in the bunk bed). There is enough seating for four people on a breezy, lake-facing terrace too. Storage areas below ground level maintain a constant, cold temperature, making them ideal for keeping perishable goods. On wet or chilly evenings, you may warm up by the fire while listening to the rain.
Whether you arrive in the morning or the evening, you may spend it on the cabin's south-facing terrace, taking in the vista of the lake and the sunshine. There's a barbecue and some outdoor furniture, including a solid oak picnic table, outdoor kitchen, two seats, two sittings sacks (Fatboy), and two smaller poufs.
There is no potable water, sewage disposal, or power here because of the area's relative isolation, although these challenges are overcome in various ways. There is no indoor restroom, but there is a separate modern incineration toilet located in the outside toilet supplimented by a camping toilet.
At the check in, we'll have 20 liters of potable water in the cabin's freshwater tank. The water is then gathered at tap sites, gas station in Stenungsund or Lilla Edet town, which is home to a variety of mom-and-pop stores, pharmacies, banks, and more. Pumped up from the lake, the water on the terrace may be used for any purpose other than drinking if it is boiled beforehand. Clean up before checking out, dishwashing, and a quick shower using eco-friendly products can be done in the lake so far.
Powerbank and the boat can be rented on the spot, but let as know beforehand.
You may take full use of the lake if you bring a kayak or stand-up paddleboard or renting our own boat. The jetty in front of the house is the perfect spot for a refreshing dip. The conveniences and facilities of the accommodation are regularly upgraded.
Several types of berries may be found in the region, and in the fall you can harvest the "gold of the forest," chanterelles and porcini mushrooms. During the colder months, the lake is turned into a bustling ice-skating rink.
In Sweden there is a law called “Right of public access” and the very few locals that occasionally may come for a swim in the lake are friendly and their visit quite short due to lack of beach on the cape, so most of the time you will only hear the wind whispering along with your thoughts. The cabin is included in ''peace-at-home-zone'' and everybody must respect it accordingly.
Words fail me when I try to describe the emotions I experience here, yet there are numerous ways to describe how incredible this location is.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the historic place "Hotel Fridfullt"!
